Memories and Photos From Amanda van Loon
Ageless. Timeless.
John was such a special and talented person.
Generous, adventurous, wild, fun.
Friends with people of all ages. Such diverse taste in art and music.
I loved it when he talked in that funny, high-pitched voice!
Always the entertainer, what great hospitality!
So wonderful to his family and friends. Loved intensely. Beauty all around him.
I’ll always remember very fondly the Christmas and Boxing Day festivities - swimming and champagne at Floreat Beach on Christmas Day (was always impressed at how far you could swim – what a fit thing you were in your speedos!), cocktails (a la Simon!), Bloody Marys and oysters on Christmas night; board games; the parties, dinners, BBQs and picnics; doing your dishes; dancing in your house to loud music; movies on your projection system; your mask and generous present at my 30th and you rock and roll dancing with my Mum; sitting on your deck looking at the city; lying on your hammocks; playing with Adara, Horace, Boris and Luciani; meeting and falling in love with Damian at your house; playing pool; Kellerberrin; camping with the wildflowers; hanging out with you and David Humphries in Sydney; the many art, Sydney Dance Company and Festival of Perth events and how proud I was of you for achieving the Transcendence exhibition.
I was so honoured and lucky to be your friend, John. I loved you. You will be sorely missed.
Bless your spirit.
