Memories and Photos From Zoe Lenard
Hello,
I am a member of the Collector’s Club and recently visited New York City with John and a group of members. John drew up a terrific program of galleries to visit, and we had a 7 completely art-packed days seeing amazing sites. The group also spent a lot of time together exploring New York’s eateries, sites and shopping.
On our last night in NY, we had a drinks party to thank John for his expertise in putting together the program and for his wonderful company. We also celebrated his 70th birthday. I have included a couple of photos of Collector’s Club president Susan Clements making a short speach to thank John (taken on 30th September), and presenting him with a gift from the group for his birthday.
There is a larger photo of most of the group from the trip at the gallery PS1, in Brooklyn, hanging out on the hammocks at the front of the building. John is on the right (taken on Oct 1st).
There is a photo of a smaller group of us at the entrance to the Met, on September 27th. John was giving us the head’s up as to which parts of the gallery we should focus on.
Thank you for posting these photos. Please let me know if you require the names of the people in each photo. I think this website is a wonderful idea to help celebrate the life of a person who had a huge influence on the lives of so many others. My husband Hamish Milne and I only joined the Collector’s Club ~2 years ago, but it was immediately apparent to us how important John was to the Club and its ethos. We feel extremely priveledged to have known him, and to have shared his passion for art. Thank you John.
Kind regards,
Zoe.
